Trakai

Unique and very beautiful city in eastern Lithuania, center of Trakai district municipality and eldership. Urbanistic monument, office of Historical park.
Trakai Old Town is one of 5 preserved by state. City is famous by Trakai Castle, Užutrakis manor palace, Penninsula Castle, Karaim exposition. The lakeside is also popular by visitors, especially in summer.

Trakai is a small city surrounded by lakes, known as the Old capital of Lithuania, there are two castles, a manor with park, authentic wooden architecture, untouched nature, tasty Kibinai (must try this when you're in Trakai!). During summer there are many tourists and people from Vilnius, so for a quiet holiday it's better to visit Trakai during autumn or late spring. For a longer stay it's worth to visit Trakai historical park and Aukštadvaris regional park areas.
